Creating Public Value through diversity management within the police service Jaume Urgell (president Xarxagay), Vic Codling (Gay Police Association), Uxio Malvido (Merck) and David Small (Stonewall). This plenary session covered the topic of diversity management in organizations as a tool for creating workplace environments that are free from discrimination and for retaining talent. Diversity management was also presented as a key element in the creation of public value in the police service, in the context of increasingly diverse communities. Diversity and equality training, diversity-sensitive recruitment policies, and visibility-enhancement policies for LGBT officers were addressed.
